WiP: Hats and scarves

Quickie today, like this knitting project. Hats and scarves for my nephews.

Hat: Ed’s Hat from Lion Brand Yarn (free pattern, but you’ll have to log in to get it). Love. This. This is a super quick hat and with a nice, loose cast on, should fit just about any head size. I anticipate using this pattern a lot in the future.

Scarf: Mistake Rib Scarf. Switched up to a US 13 needle after my initial post. This is super warm and super squishy. Again. Love.

Yarn: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. This is a really nice yarn. It’s machine washable and dryable but still has a little bit of wool for snuggly warmth. Each yarn has a different texture so they all seem to knit up different (the brown is very soft and loose, the blue is more coarse and knits tight). This might be frustrating if I used different yarns in one project, but on their own, they are a joy to work with.

Two scarves left to knit and this project will be done. Much faster than expected.

(Fun fact, the framed names in the picture are all ambigrams. You can read them right side up or upside down. They were created for us by my husband’s insanely talented artist uncle.)

What are you working on today?
